Blog post 3: What is military strength?

For my third blog post I will be delving into what military strength is. To understand what military strength is, a proficient understanding of what the military is also necessary. The definition of a military is as follows “A military, also known collectively as armed forces, is a heavily armed, highly organized force primarily intended for warfare. (2)” Military strength is the measurement of a country’s militaristic power, military strength is how strong a country’s military is, not what its military is composed of (although certainly a factor). To measure military strength there are many factors such as the composition of its military. For example, a country whose military is almost entirely composed of land-based militants might be viewed as having a strong military, however that country would be extremely vulnerable to air attacks thus reducing the perceived power of its military. Perceived military power is the amount of military strength a country possesses from their perspective. The advantages of having a really high perceived military strength is a massive boon for that country (3). In finality, military strength is a composition of different factors including perceived military strength and the diversification of its military.(4)
