1.) Where are you with your action? (e.g. what involvement have you had so far? Describe with examples)
Since my last blog post about my Action, I have participated in YLSBCMUN as the Under Secretariat General of Committees, in charge of overseeing the 2 committees that it had, and as the director of DISEC for the one-day conference. Moreover, I was also in charge of reviewing peoples position papers where they indicate their knowledge on the topic and show that they have done research, which was required for them to be considered for awards.

2.) What are some successes that you have had? Provide specific examples.
The YLSBCMUN was a huge success, as both the USG of commitees, seeing the passionate debate across the floor of both commmitees, and as the director of DISEC, where I had helped the delegates to understand how Model UN works, and had helped them improve on their diplomacy and public speaking skills.
As the debate first begun, many of them had never been at any conference and were too shy to speak, in an attempt to spark more debate and introduce controversy, I decided to join the debate grounds as the delegate of Egypt, who did not come to the conference. I talked about Egypt’s independence from not needing to use Private Millitary Companies, as they believe it to bring more harm than good. I avoided active condemnation of the usage of Private Millitary Companies global wide, helping delegates to see more clearly what stances they might find themself taking.

After the debates had opened sail smoothly, me and my co-chairs did not have much to worry about, and had directed the conference sucessfully until the end, helping delegates improve little by little every chance we got. At the end of the committee there was a combined crisis, with me as the director, I made fun events involving alien invasions and Stone Moai overtaking the human civilization. It was a big success in helping people relax and have fun after intense diplomatic debate and a lot of thinking.

3.) What are some challenges that you have faced? Have you been able to overcome them? If so, how? Provide specific examples. If not, can you problem-solve some ideas that might work for next time or if a similar situation arises? Again, provide specific examples.
One of the biggest challenges that we have had was before the conference, getting all 4 members of my Dias team together to work on the background guide for the committee. It was difficult because everyone was busy and it was hard to get together a time where everyone was free, the planning took weeks and there still seemed to be no future date that we can all get together. However, our pure will and responsibility overcame all of our problems, we communicated to each other about the importances of different events that were stopping us from meeting another, and all decided on a day where we could cancel one of our occupations and gather together to finish the background guide together.
Of course, as the director of the committee, it was my job to oversee everything and to help everyone with their job, finishing my part of the background guide, I discovered that many of them were still struggling with theirs, and ended up helping all of them little by little, finishing the background guide together before the clock hit 12 am that night.
On the day before the conference, position papers started coming in, and the due date was 12am of the night before the conference. It was me and my chairs job to review all of the position papers for if there were visible traces of AI usage by the delegates, and to decide who had won the best position paper award. There were near 20 position papers that came in that day, each averaging around 1 thousand words, me and my chair stayed up until 3 in the morning to read it, and continued to evaluate each position paper before finishing around 4 am. We had to wake by 6 am to head towards the hotel to help set up that day. Dispite all of the challenges and hardship, we had finished it with remarkable results, and it cannot be done with the hard work that we have put in, and our open communication with each other.
4.) What are you doing next and why?
I will be talking about my experiences going to CAIMUN conference next, and crafting gifts for Mr. Cyr for his support of our club! Caimun is the last big conference that I will go this year, and I expect to learn a lot from it because of its reputation of being disorganized!
