My name is Sydney McNaughton and I am currently a grade 11 student at Dr. Charles Best Secondary School. For fun, I enjoy sewing and baking and my favourite thing to make is chocolate chip cookies. I play field hockey and basketball, and I recently started getting into running by joining my school’s cross-country team. I chose to take Social Butterfly because it will give me the opportunities to explore topics I’m passionate about that I don’t usually get to research in my other classes. I would say that my strongest attribute is that I’m very understanding. I take the time to listen to people and consider their perspective before reacting. This helps me build deeper connections with others and handle situations calmly and respectfully. One thing that might surprise others about me is that I can be extroverted once you get to know me. At first, I come across as quiet, but once I feel comfortable, I become very talkative. If I could have any job right now, I would be a pediatric nurse. I’ve wanted to be a nurse since I was little. I want to go into paediatrics because I enjoy working with children; and honestly, I think dealing with kids messes is easier than dealing with adults.
If I had to choose between being the worst player on the best team or the best player on the worst team, I would choose to be the worst player on the best team. The reason for this is because being surrounded by stronger players would push me to improve and I would rather win as part of a team, even if all I contribute is cheering. I am interested in doing an Inquiry project because it gives me the chance to dive deeper into topics I’m passionate about and learn in a way that goes beyond regular classroom work.
About Me; Sydney McNaughton

Hey Sydney, I like Your post because your interest is to get opportunities to explore new topics. Moreover you do consider the perspectives of people before taking actions.
Hi Grace, thank you for saying that! I try to stay open-minded to new ideas and look at different perspectives on the topic, so it means a lot that you noticed that.
