Hi! My name is Katelyn, I am a grade 9 student at Charles Best Secondary. I have a brother and a tiny dog named Dexter. My favorite subjects in school are Biology and English. This is my first time doing this course and I’m very excited!!
My moms side of the family is Slavic. My grandpa and grandma were born in Croatia. We visited their town last summer. One of my favourite family traditions is the food. My grandma makes delicious jam filled cookies, my whole family loves them. Something that I am passionate about is being involved in everything. I want to join every club, every class, and every activity (I never want to miss out).
In my experience a community is more then just the people in your neighborhood. It is the place you feel supported, uplifted and valued, it is also the place where you can be yourself. If I had the power to solve a global issue, I would cure cancer. There is no single cure for cancer but if there was a cure I would hope to find it.
I have many hobbies that I indulge in. Some of my favourites are reading, writing, and shopping 🙂 When I get home from school the first thing I do is start reading. I wish I could read more but studying takes away from that time. I LOVE writing short stories and I dream of being a published author. I also love spending time with my best friend. At least once a week we hop on the skytrain heading downtown and start shopping. In my eyes the perfect best friend is my best friend. She is not perfect she has flaws, she gets angry, we disagree but she is perfect to me because she is always herself.
Out of the three categories of butterfly effect I am most interested in the action projects. This class encourages students to make a change and since I have the resources to effect change I think I should use them to do good.
Hi Katelyn! I enjoyed reading your post! I thought it was great to read about you and being an author is very cool! I liked how you included details about your hobbies, and how you included many examples of your hobbies. I also liked how you added photos. I think it would help if you categorize your post.
