Hello, my name is Dylan Khakh, and I am currently a grade 10 student at Dr. Charles Best Secondary School in Coquitlam, British Columbia. Two things I love are hockey and traveling.
What is my passion?
My passion is the sport of hockey! I first started playing at the age of three and have enjoyed every minute of it since. I am currently playing for the Vancouver North East Chiefs located in Burnaby, BC. I enjoy playing hockey because it has helped me with building friendships, staying physically and mentally fit, and has also showed me about the importance of discipline and making commitments. As I continue to get older, I have made a goal to go to college to pursue a Business degree aswell as continue my journey as a hockey player at a high level for as long as I can. On top of my own hockey, I also help assist younger kids who are just starting to get into hockey and skating. I enjoy helping the next generation because it gives me the opportunity to give back to the community, aswell as seeing the next generation do what I love the most.
What brought you to Butterfly Effect and where do you expect it to take you?
I joined Butterfly Effect because a bunch of different people recommended I should take the class and because I wanted to try out something different. I realized that if I tried the class out maybe I would have a fun and unique experience, and find a passion of exploring real world issues and exploring them into further detail.
If you could have any job right now, what would it be and why?
If I could have any job right now, I would want to be a businessman working in the mortgage industry. I’ve always been interested in how money works, especially when it comes to big life decisions like buying a house. Mortgages might not sound exciting to everyone, but I think it’s really cool how someone in that role can help people reach their dream of owning a home. I like the idea of working with numbers, solving problems, and helping families understand something that can seem confusing at first. Being in the business world also means I’d get to use skills like communication, leadership, and decision-making, which I enjoy developing. I think it would be rewarding to know that I’m helping people make one of the biggest financial choices of their lives. My goal is to learn more about real estate, finance, and business so I can be successful one day and maybe even start my own mortgage company. It might sound that is too formal and boring, but to me, it sounds like a great way to make a difference while doing something I’m passionate about.
Which one of the three categories of butterfly effect are you most interested (currently) in and why? I am currently interested in an Inquiry project becuase it allows me to use my own knowledge and experiences aswell as researching and finding studies on things, which allows me to be versatile and open ended to any topic. I am very invested in finding out what the effects of social media have on today’s generation.

It is nice to read your post and great passion that you have of having a Degree in Business and also being part of sports. That have amazed me seeing that you have planed a great move in your life knowing that all the efforts you raise will never go unrewarded just keep on working and at the end of all you are going to attain your goals.
