Blog post 2-“Should there be limits to freedom of speech.”

Step 1. Understanding Freedom of Speech and Its Importance

In this first stage, I will research what freedom of speech means, and why it is considered a human right. I will research how different countries use freedom of speech and if they are like ours and how they are not like ours. This will be helpful to my project, so I can get a better understanding on why freedom of speech is important to many people.

Step 2. Limiting Freedom of Speech

Next, I will investigate cases where freedom of speech has been limited for reasons such as hate speech, misinformation, or national security. I will look at examples from the real world. This will be helpful to my project because it will help me understand the reasons some people believe limits for free speech.

Step 3. Evaluating Modern Day Impact

Finally, I will explore how social media has changed the conversation about free speech drastically. I’ll consider recent cases of misinformation, online harassment and more. This will be helpful to my project because I can take a look at the types of free speech online and make a personal conclusion of whether there should be limits or not.

This question affects me and my community because freedom of speech shapes how we express our thoughts, beliefs, and identity.
