Hi welcome back! 😊So far with this project I have made about twenty-seven cards to put on cars. This week I have been trying to stick to my original plan and make just one card a day. It has been quite successful and I am on track to finish them soon. I have been trying to find a date for when I can go to the Cancer center (which I will elaborate on later). I have been making sure that everyday when I get home before I relax I make a card. Just so that I don’t have to cram it in before bed.
One of my successes was staying on track with my card making. Especially when I was tired. For example a couple of days ago I got home very late and I wanted to go to bed. Instead of giving in to the temptations to sleep, I decided to channel my energy into making one more card. That turned into a work habit that I think has and will continue to help me with this project this semester. Another example is working on being neat with the cards and not rushing through the process of designing/creating them. However I have not been doing this by myself, I have been bringing supplies to school and my friends have been helping create the cards. I am taking social butterfly to a whole other level. I am no longer a caterpillar. But this success also turned out to be my downfall.

Unfortunately my water bottle leaked in the bottom of my bag. Four of the cards got wet which turned out to my one of my challenges. I tried to dry the cards but when they dried the colours were smeared and faded. Also the paper was wrinkled so I chose to remake the four cards. This was obviously a huge set back. Another challenge I have been having is trying to find a date to go to the Cancer Center. Many things are impacting what day I choose such as my schedule, my moms schedule, and when my cards will be ready. My goal is to do this project over winter break, potentially before Christmas. Maybe my project will be perceived as a Christmas act of kindness.

The next steps in my project would be finishing up my cards and finalizing the date to go to the Cancer center. My goal is to hand the cards and flowers out during winter break to wrap this project up! Also one of my priorities is finding a place to buy affordable but beautiful flowers for the patients. I also want to try and make the cards more creative and thoughtful using origami. Finally, I will reflect on the experience and try to continue to brighten other patients day through other actions. I have been thinking of volunteering at the Cancer Center but I have to be sixteen years old. When I turn sixteen I will look into it further.
1)I found a pretty cool website that gives free origami tutorials. “our mission is simple: to make origami inspiring, accessible, and supportive for everyone involved.” This is going to be my main focus for the next few days! I think this will help make the cards extra special.

Thank you guys for reading my post I hope you enjoyed!💗💗
