1.) Where are you with your action?
We have basically completed our action. Rima and Dara were able to provide Baker Drive elementary students with a helpful presentation about First Aid. I unfortunately was not able to schedule a time, as I had classes. So, we decided to split the responsibilities in another way, that I will explain in the lower sections. As for the feedback, it is safe to say the majority enjoyed the presentation a lot, whether it was just because it was entertaining or if it actually taught them something. Regardless, the outcome was great in my opinion. In general, I am really glad that our group got this wonderful opportunity to share some of our knowledge with others.
2.) What are some successes that you have had?
The biggest success of this project has been actually being able to go out there and teach the younger generation about something that is pretty important for them in the near future. They might not realize the importance now, but I am still very glad they got a little bit of background knowledge before learning about it seriously sometime eventually. Also, for a little while, we were not able to get an answer back from any teachers which was a little disappointing and left us feeling a little hopeless on whether this project would even be an action or not. So, finally getting an answer back was a huge relief and provided us with some hope and excitement for the project.
3.) What are some challenges that you have faced? Have you been able to overcome them? If so, how?
The biggest challenge recently for me has been the fact that I was unable to attend the actual presentations with Dara and Rima. So, we decided to make my contribution worthwhile, I would create the presentations, and find useful videos for the kids to watch during the presentation. I think that was the main way that we overcame that challenge. The featured image is one of the slides included in the presentation. As a certain superhero once believed, “With great power, comes great responsibility”. Spiderman really gets me motivated and keeps me optimistic during hard times, because the movies gave me comfort through hard times. If a similar situation comes by, I would remain optimistic, which is something I started doing more recently, then find a way to problem-solve if possible. If not, I would still hope for the best and see what happens next, because whatever is meant to happen, will happen.
4.) What are you doing next and why?
Next, we are deciding as a group (I think), if we want to continue our action project, or take a different route and get involved in another way. I know for sure that I want to do an action project again for the new semester, but I still have not decided what, specifically I want to do.
