Blog Post #5

1.) Where are you with your action? (e.g. what involvement have you had so far? Describe with examples)

Now with my action i’m planning the next time i will go out and clean up my neighborhood even though i’m finished my action project i thought it would be nice if i cleaned up my neighborhood just for the fun of it. so far i have successfully planed and completed my first clean up. An example of what i can do next is clean up Mundy park which is right next to our school. 2.) What are some successes that you have had? Provide specific examples. Since there hasn’t been much development in my action project since my last blog post i can’t say that I’ve had any new successes. 3.) What are some challenges that you have faced? Have you been able to overcome them? If so, how? Provide specific examples. If not, can you problem-solve some ideas that might work for next time or if a similar situation arises? Again, provide specific examples. One challenge i have is that I keep forgetting to plan my next clean up. Something i can do to change this is set a reminder on my phone. 4.) What are you doing next and why? like I said next I can clean up Mundy park which is right across from our school.

  1. Hey Salma! Although I haven’t read all of your other posts yet, this blog post gave me some very valuable insight to your project! I really like that even after you’ve ended your action project in terms of blog posts and the semester, you’re still continuing to clean up in your area. I think that your plan to help out in Mundy Park is a great idea, and personally, I’ve found that reminders on my calendar help me remember things much better. Along with that, you could also try to use a regular schedule if possible, like always visiting on Thursdays, but it all depends on your schedule, of course! For the future, I’d be really interested to see what you’ve learned from your project and see the different things you’ve noticed- lots of trash pollution? Very little in certain areas? Have you seen or used any solutions to try and keep trash away from our environments?
Great job, and good luck with all your future work!

  2. Hey Salma! I really enjoyed the update on your post. It’s great that your preparing to further your positive contributions to our community. I like how your writings are organized and concise, it was easy to follow and understand your thinking. A suggestion I have is going more in depth to your ideas, even if you’ve explained them before. You could try to use some examples, strong wording and personal connections. Also, in Mundy park, since it’s such a big ecosystem you could gather a group of people to clean more efficiency. A link that could help you is this one: https://www.earthday.org/7-steps-to-hosting-a-successful-cleanup/. Overall, I love that you’re ready to go beyond and I love what you shared.

  3. Hey Salma! I think it’s really great that you’re continuing your neighborhood cleanups even after finishing your project. It shows real dedication! For your next post, maybe you could share some photos or quick facts about how much trash you collected it would help show the impact of your actions. Keep it up!
