Hi everyone, this is my final post for this term 🙂 It is a draft story so it can be a little messy.
I have lived in Lima my life with my family and friends. That is how it has always been. Things can change really fast. In 2018 my dad got a job and we decided to move to a new place. Not just to a new city but to a whole new country. I was going to leave the place where I grew up where I knew everything. At first I was really surprised. I felt a little sad, about leaving Lima. I felt really bad when I had to tell my friends that I was going to be moving to Chile in a couple of months. My parents said I could not take my two dogs with me. This was a hard choice for me. In the end I decided to take my dog, Pluto with me to Chile. I had to leave my other dog, Jupiter with my grandparents for a little while until we got settled in our new home and could make arrangements to bring Jupiter to Chile.

It was hard for me to get used to the idea that some things were going to be different. My dog, Pluto was going to be, with me. My dog, Jupiter was not. Those two months went by fast. By July all our things were shipped to Chile. Then a days later I got on the plane that would take my family and me to a new life in Chile. I have to say I felt really confused about the thing. I was happy and curious about our life in Chile but at the same time I was sad and scared, about leaving everything behind.

The first two weeks were really crazy. Our new house was a mess with stuff over the place, which made everything even more confusing. I started going to a new school. The first day of school was very scary. People were talking about things that I did not understand even though we all spoke Spanish. There were some words that meant things in my country, which was confusing. My new friends, at the school were very helpful they showed me around the school and helped me talk to other students and teachers at the new school. I wanted to get used to living in Chile so I could find some peace and happiness. When I saw pictures of my family together it made me miss them a lot because I was not with them. I tried to feel better and have fun in my new life in Chile.

In October my parents surprised me with a trip to Lima for a weeks. I was really excited to go to Lima. I was very happy about this trip, to Lima. At the same time I was a little sad because I had to leave my dog Pluto behind in our home for a few weeks.
So to make sure we got to hear from Pluto every day we left Pluto in the care of a dog “sitter” who would take care of Pluto.
I went home and I was really looking forward to seeing my dog. Something really strange happened. There was some news. The person who was taking care of my dog, Pluto had lost him. I was really shocked. I felt very sad for a time. We tried to do everything to find Pluto. We just could not find him. I asked my parents about bringing Jupiter, but they said it was not a good idea right now because they were scared Jupiter would get lost too. That was really sad. I knew it was for the safety of him.
The hardest part was the moment I realized I had lost them both. I also received the news that I was going to be a big sister; I was going to have a little brother. When he was born, he brought so much happiness to my family.
In the end, I understood that nothing lasts forever, especially when you move to a new place. New things always come for the best. The process can be difficult, but the result will be amazing.
Thank you so much for the suport!

Hi Caetana! Your story is super interesting and I loved reading your draft. I am so sorry about your dogs and I’m glad they brought you tons of joy. I was wondering how long you lived in Chile for before moving to Canada and how you managed to master English so quickly. Overall I love your idea and I can’t wait to hear about the final story!
