One challenge I faced during this inquiry project was finding reliable information about how social media affects people’s confidence and self-worth. There are many opinions online, so it was sometimes hard to know which sources were trustworthy. To overcome this, I focused on using trustworthy articles and research instead of random opinions. Another challenge was organizing all the information I found and connecting it clearly to my main question. I solved this by doing notes and putting similar things together, which helped me understand the topic better.

This inquiry changed the way I think about social media and the content people see online. Before researching this topic, I knew social media could affect confidence, but I did not realize how much constant comparison can influence people’s self-worth. Seeing edited photos and “perfect” lifestyles can make people feel like they are not good enough, even though what they see online is often unrealistic.

This investigation will impact my future decisions because it made me more aware of how social media can affect the way people see themselves. In the future, I will try to be more mindful of the content I see and avoid comparing myself too much to what I see online. I will also try to remember that many things posted online are edited or only show the best parts of someone’s life.

This investigation could impact others both locally and globally because social media is used by millions of people around the world every day. By raising awareness about the effects of constant comparison online, people could maybe start thinking more about what they see. It may also encourage healthier social media habits and help people focus more on their real lives instead of unrealistic online.
Thank you for following my project!
