Kian Vaezi- Blog post #7- Inquiry- Is true happiness something money can buy or does it come from somewhere deeper?

As I have reached the final point of my research, I have concluded that money isn’t something that once bought can bring true happiness; however, it can help put you in the right path to find true happiness. A quote that I came across was from an old South Korean author who wrote “Who is happier, the millionaire or the homeless?” and the answer can be both, as we all have different expectations on happiness. Obviously, no one wants to become homeless, but it really shows that life could always be worse.

The biggest challenge I came across was how to find the conclusion. As happiness is objective, achieving true happiness is not the same for everyone. I overcame this challenge by asking different people in my community for their thoughts and reasons to understand their perspectives better.

This inquiry changed the way I think by making me become more grateful and more understanding of the current situation in the world. As life might not be the best for everyone with everything going on, I try to remind myself of the things I have, where others may not. This has definitely made me more happier throughout my hard times.

This investigation impacted my future decision a lot. The research I conducted became very essential in the choices I made and will make for my future. I learnt that I want to be the person who, in twenty years’ time, thrives off my decisions and doesn’t regret them.

This investigation will impact others globally by making more people aware of the current global economic structure and its future.
