What can we do to stop foreign countries from controlling ours?
What is foreign dominance?
Foreign dominance is when another country has too much control over your country. This can happen in money, business, the army, or the government.
Why does foreign dominance happen?
- Depending on foreign armies:
Some countries ask other countries to help them with security because they don’t have strong armies. This makes them weak and easy to control. - Not having enough natural resources:
If a country doesn’t have oil, minerals, or food, it must buy them from others. This gives other countries more power. - Using foreign money:
If a country uses another country’s money, it cannot make its own money rules. This makes it hard to control the economy. - Old or weak technology:
If a country doesn’t have good machines or computers, it cannot make things on its own. It must buy from other countries.
How can we stop foreign dominance?
Support our local businesses:
We should buy things made in our country. The government can also help small businesses grow.
- Teach people about self-reliance:
People need to know why it’s important to support our country. Youth should be taught how to start businesses and create jobs. - Build a strong army and protect systems:
We should train our soldiers and protect things like the internet and electricity from outside attacks. - Control trade with other countries:
The government should make rules that protect our local shops and farmers from big foreign companies. - Make our government stronger:
If our leaders are honest and strong, other countries will not easily control us.
