BLOG POST#3: HOW DOES EDUCATION VARY IN DIFFERENT CONTINENTS?

Hey how are you. I welcome you again in my new blog post. As you can remember very well I had categorized my question into three.  In this blog post we will look at the first question which was;

1. How does education vary in different continents?

We will look at how education in America/USA differs from others.

BRITISH VS AMERICAN.

The British system specializes in student with GCSEs and A-levels. Unlike the American system which has a wider curriculum with many electives.

AMERICAN VS EUROPEAN

European schools tend to have longer breaks, while there is less emphasis placed on their extracurricular activities. Additionally, European students study in one classroom compared to American who move from classroom to classroom.

CANADIAN VS USA

Critical thinking, rather than standardized testing is the point of focus in the Canadian system besides, the schools in Canada are considerably safer and grading in percentages is more prevalent than GPA

GERMAN VS US

Students completing their elementary schools are then tracked in Germany onto the vocational training or university preparation systems   established soon after. Unlike the American system which allows greater flexibility

AMERICAN VS UK

The UK introduces its students to specialization much earlier with A-levels and follows a more exam driven on the other hand the US combines broader education with more electives and standardized tests

AMERICAN VS KENYA.

Elementary education is compulsory in USA up to age of 16 however, in Kenya’s is free but not compulsory. Additionally, in the US pupils select what they want to learn right from primary level, but this is not the case in Kenya where all pupils they want undertake the same subject at primary level.
