About Me: Kylie

Hello, my name is Kylie and I’m a grade 9 student at Dr. Charles Best Secondary School in Canada. I have 2 brothers and a dog named Chippy.

I love spending time with family and being outside in nature. My passion is rhythmic gymnastics. I started when I was 5 years old, and have loved it since. It has taught me many lessons over the years, and it’s a huge part of who I am today. It has also helped me build some of my strongest attributes, like my determination, discipline, and teamwork.

To me, the word “community” means a network of people who are around to support each other at any time, in any scenario. Whether that’s a hug or with a plate of warm cookies, it means having people you know you can turn to for anything.

If I could have any job right now, it would probably be a librarian. When I was in grade 5 I spent tons of time helping out in our school library, shelving books, checking them in and out, reading stories to younger grades, and much more. It was truly one of the biggest highlights of the entire year for me, especially as someone who loves to read. I really enjoyed learning about what goes on behind the scenes at a library, and honestly just being able to spend extra time in a library made 10 year old Kylie pretty happy.

The category of Butterfly Effect that I am the most interested in right now is inquiry. I have always been quite curious and an opportunity to take a deep dive on a topic I’m interested in sounds like the perfect thing for me. Thank you for reading!!

  1. Hi kylie. Librarian is a very good job because they help people find the right information quickly and easily, whether in books, online resources, or community programs. They keep libraries organized, guide students with research, and ensure everyone has access to knowledge. I really hope to learn more from you.

    1. Hello Erastus, thank you so much! I definitely agree with you, I think librarians are super helpful and I would love to help people find information. I enjoy hosting community events at my local library I volunteer at. Your comment gave me an idea to pitch an idea geared towards education and information at the next meeting. Once again, thank you so much and I hope to learn from you too.
