Climate change is something we have been hearing about for years now, but how big of a problem is it really? What can we do to limit or even stop it? These are all questions I want to be able to answer by the end of this project. The inquiry question that I have chosen to try and answer this semester is “how might climate change affect life in my community in the next 50 years?” With my project, I hope to shed more light on how large of a problem climate change is, and just how detrimental it could be to our future. I chose this question because I have always been interested in finding out ways to minimize my carbon footprint and do my part. It is extremely concerning to see how quickly climate change has been progressing recently, especially in the last couple of years, as the time on the climate clock gets lower and lower.

(This is an old picture, the time has gone down lots more by now.)
Another reason why this question interests me is that I want to know more about what the world will look like when I’m an adult, and which other steps we can take to increase what little time we have left. I want to have the chance to grow old on a beautiful green earth. I want my grandchildren to be able to see amazing animals with their own eyes, not just hear stories about them. I want to be a good member of my community, without having to wear a mask to filter the air. And I’m sure you do too.
Thank you for reading 🙂
