My inquiry question is: How can housing policies evolve in Vancouver to help homelessness?

In Vancouver there is a rising population of homelessness due to the housing crisis in British Columbia. Every time I go downtown to go shopping or out with my family I can’t stand how there are thousands of people on the streets without any help. I can never not feel sad that they have no where to go and I always wonder what each persons story is. How did they get here? How can we as a society help them get off the streets? What do they need from us? These questions lead me to one thing. The housing crisis/policies in BC, this is why the question I chose is off interest to me. I want to help the homeless and want people to be aware of what can be changed with housing policies. Homes in BC are way to expensive to rent or buy, and I believe there should be specific policies to help people that don’t make as much money. Having a dry, warm and safe place to go should not only be for those who have money but for everyone.
