Blog Post #1: “How does the changing season from summer to fall and winter affect our mood, what we eat and what we do?”

Hi there! This is my first blog post of this semester on my inquiry question: “How does the changing season from summer to fall and winter affect our mood, what we eat and what we do?” In this post, I will explain why I chose this question and how it has piqued my interest.

I chose this question in particular because I have an interest in learning more about the human brain and how our bodies respond to the changing seasons. I have always found it interesting how the weather or the amount of daylight may have an impact on how we feel, think, and behave. I want to explore and research how our brain adjusts to seasonal changes and how they can influence our moods. Additionally, I feel that understanding more about conditions like Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) can help us learn more about how our brain works and the connection between our brain and our mental health.

Thank you for reading!

  1. Hi Isabella,

Your question caught my attention, because I hear so many people affected mentally by the changing seasons, especially in winter, but I never knew there was a word for it. I am also interested in learning about the brain and how human behaviour can better explain our thinking processes. I am excited to see what else you do with this question, because this can explain a lot about seasonal mental illnesses and potential better solutions to help this problem. I would also suggest that you include your own opinion in your blog post, if seasons changing affects your mood as well then it would be good to hear your perspective.
