blog post # 1- values Dara CM

Hi and welcome back to my blog! This is my first post for this semester, and I’m excited to share my updated values and how they connect to my new action project.

1. Values Activity Results

Top 3 Most Important Values:

  1. Compassion
  2. Responsibility
  3. Community

3 Least Important Values:

  1. Fame
  2. Innovation
  3. Wealth

2. Reflection on Values

I agree with these results because they truly reflect what matters to me at this stage in my life.

  • Compassion is important to me because I believe in caring for others, listening to their needs, and offering support whenever possible.
  • Responsibility reflects my commitment to doing what’s right, following through on promises, and being a reliable person.
  • Community matters deeply because I believe change starts locally by supporting and helping the people around us.

Although innovation and wealth are not at the top of my list, I still see their value. They’re just not as central to my personal goals right now. Compared to last year, my values have shifted slightly. Spiritual growth is still meaningful to me, but responsibility and community have grown in importance because I’m taking on more leadership and action projects.

3. United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals

After reviewing the UN 17 Sustainable Development Goals again this year, I reflected on which ones connect most closely to my values.

  • Goal that aligns most with my values:
Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being
This goal focuses on ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages. This aligns strongly with my values of compassion, responsibility, and community because health and safety are fundamental human rights.
  • My passion:
My biggest passion also connects with Goal 3. I believe everyone no matter their age—should have access to basic health knowledge and feel confident to help in emergencies. This passion has grown especially after becoming certified in First Aid through the Red Cross.
  • c) Specific action:
This semester, my teammates and I are working on a project called “First Aid Awareness for Elementary Students.”
    Our plan is to:
  • Visit elementary schools and lead interactive first aid sessions.
  • Teach students simple but life-saving skills such as how to respond to cuts, nosebleeds, choking, or when to call for help.
  • Create a safe, hands-on learning environment where kids feel empowered and capable.

In the future, we might expand by:

  • Developing a simple First Aid booklet or video for younger audiences.
  • Hosting a community First Aid awareness day.
  • Partnering with local health organizations or the Red Cross to strengthen our outreach.

4. Connection to My Values and Growth

Last year, my main values centered on spiritual growth, compassion, and family. Those still influence me, but this year, I feel more focused on putting my values into action in my community.

My belief in compassion drives me to teach children important life-saving skills with kindness and patience. Responsibility pushes me to be a reliable role model and leader during these sessions. And my love for community motivates me to share knowledge that can protect and save lives.

5. Looking Ahead

I’m excited to collaborate with classmates, teachers, and possibly students from other schools or countries who share the same goals. I believe that small actions lead to big change, and if we can inspire younger students to learn and care, we can help build a safer and more compassionate community.

Thank you for reading, and I look forward to sharing updates on how our project grows!
