Hi! My name is Lina, and this is my final blog post for my story project. In this post I reflected on my journey of writing this story. I hope you enjoy!

1. Address the following questions:
a. What challenges did you overcome throughout this story project? How did you go about
overcoming these challenges?

I went through some challenges writing my story project. When I had originally started writing the story it came quite easily since my inspiration came from my life. For a bit of context, my story was about a world without digital technology for 30 days inspired by a challenge I had partaken in myself. When the challenge finished I found it hard to write about a life without technology since I wasn’t experiencing it myself. Luckily I started the challenge again in January and was able to overcome this writing block. I was able to channel my feelings into my writing and my story came more easily. The second challenge I overcame was more physical then mental. 3 days before the blog post was due my entire word document deleted, and my story vanished. I had to restart with only one paragraph and an upcoming deadline. I took the next days to focus completely on writing and I ended up liking the second draft much more than the first. This problem ended up helping me for the better and it taught me that not are mistakes are as bad as they seem.
b. How did writing and researching this story change the way you think?

In writing this story my perspective on many things changed. While researching I learned about technology usage different countries, and it opened my world view. I learned about technology censorship in places like China and Russia and revolutions that took place on social media. This made me realize the true power of technology and the control it has over people. This realization was not only beneficial for my writing but for myself personally. Another thing that shifted my point of view was researching the disadvantages of technology. After looking at many statistics I realized really how influential social media is. This view has made me think concisely and put my phone down.
c. What impact will this story have on others locally and/or globally?
My hope for this story is that it will make the readers think before going on social media. As I tried to highlight in the story, there are many benefits to digital technology, but there are also many downsides. In a world without social media, everyone is more engaged, awake, and in general happier. I believe this will lead to positive impacts within communities. I also hope the readers of the story will think more about how their being controlled in daily life. Control is one of the main themes of my story and the story illustrates how people don’t understand what is going on around them until they are forced to see it. I hope everyone who reads my story opens their eyes just a little to what is going around near them so they can understand the world more.
