Hey! I’m Brayden, I’m 15 years old, and I attend school at Charles Best Secondary. My heritage is entirely Chinese, but I was born and raised in the Vancouver area. I enjoy writing and video creation, with English being my favourite subject.
When it comes to passions, the one I’m most impassioned by is writing. I have numerous personal projects all centered around some form of writing or literature, those mainly being ones relating to world building or analysis. I love making worlds comes to life in small stories, or character-sheet like formats; expanding on anything from characters to locations to fictional weaponry makes me feel an odd warmth inside. And, if it isn’t character building, it’s rants. Whenever it be a game I’m enjoying, a film I think is intriguing, a piece of philosophy that deserves some attention, or just something that I think would be interesting to write about, I’m sure to load up a sheet on google docs and start typing away.

Above are posters from my two favourite movies of all time: The Truman Show and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, both starring Jim Carrey, my favourite actor. The writing in both films impress me so much, but I love both for different reasons. I also generally love movies in general, since my dream occupation is to become either a director or scriptwriter.
For my strongest attribute, I’d probably say being talkative. Not necessarily just in conversation, but in general. I can easily do an entire presentation without any script, I can answer a large array of questions, and I often take up a bit of leadership-esque role when it comes to group projects or discussions, namely being the one that instigates the discussion in the first place. That’s not to say that I can’t be silent, it’s more that if I can talk about something, I most definitely will. I’m sorry for ranting about the etymology behind a word you said, but you did say the word first, so who’s really at fault here!?
I love all of my friends, but I can definitively say that none of them are perfect, as are all humans. I won’t go on a long tangent about this, but to put simply, the perfect friend can’t exist, as without flaws, there is no such thing as a good trait. Being only “good” makes you inherently boring. Anyways, a good friend is someone that I can spew any nonsense at, and they’d understand, or at least listen. I say nonsense, but I’m also talking about mental health; someone I can vent to, and someone that can vent back to me. They say shared sadness is half the sadness, and shared happiness is twice the happiness, and I’d agree with them (mostly…)

I chose to do an inquiry question since I am already passionate and proficient in analysis, as I’ve said before. While I would’ve liked to have done a story, it would’ve been more draining compared to a fairly basic analytical question. The question I chose is “Why do humans love love?”, since love, and loving someone, is one of my biggest ideals in life.
Thanks for reading!
