My Inquiry question is: What is the ultimate shared goal behind every action that has motivated and driven humankind to achieve? In every day life, we often do things like attending school or job for granted. However, if we think about these behaviours and ask ourselves why are we doing these actions? We will enter an endless chain of questions and answers for motivation on why we took those behaviours and why do we do those actions. For example, why do we study, we work relentlessly to enter post secondary, which could possibly secure us a job, but if we dig deeper and question ourselves, it will reveal that it is more than just securing a job, it will continue lead to other questions. Why do we need a job? What can a job provide us? Which these questions will later lead to even more questions. A similar example occurs to the technology and comfort for humankind, society develops in technology to make life easier, yet when we ask why do we seek for comfort and an easier life, we will notice this question doesn’t lead to an answer, it leads to more unsolved, unanswered questions. Even on a bigger scale for all of human history, building pyramids or researching in modern space exploration would also lead to different questions, and the main question is, “Why do we do these actions? What is the point of these actions?”. After thinking about this I decided my inquiry project will focus on this question which seeks the shared motivation of human development, so I can answer the final inquiry question, “What is the ultimate shared goal behind every action that has motivated and driven humankind to achieve?”
