Blog #1 – Inquiry

What happens when somebody’s emotions bottle up?

I’ve chosen the Inquiry Project because I believe it is the most fitting for me right now. I have many questions I want answered, and I’m glad I have a chance of fully searching about them.

Ever since I was younger, I’ve always been interested in how emotions and the brain work and now, getting older, I’ve had a clearer understanding on these concepts. But one thing still stands, why do people bottle their emotions and what is the after math to that? I know for sure that I’ve bottled my emotions up before and it’s not always a pleasant ending, but everyone has different coping mechanisms, which is why I chose this subject.

I will start this project answering a simpler question: “Why do people bottle their emotions?” and proceed with researching questions that may help me reach my final goal.

My plan is to analyze myself, and how I cope when I may feel angry of frustrated. I want to see what I will do after, and what I feel like after.

I hope that in the future, other people will learn that bottling their emotions is not the best, and it is good to let everything out sometimes. Thankfully, with councilors and therapists, kids can start young and not adapt bad habits for the future.
