Blog Post #1 “Room 201”

My story is set in a solitary confinement cell, the protagonist being the inmate. He will experience a series of terrifying incidents, making the genre a mix of horror and fiction. I will attempt to use the unknown aspects of the story to add to the plotline. For example, reader’s will question whether the event’s are real, or simply happening inside his head.

During the process of Free Writing, I initially felt a little unsure of myself because I wasn’t sure how to begin or where my ideas would take me. As I continued writing, I started to feel more comfortable and found myself thinking more creatively. I realized that I didn’t need to overthink every sentence or worry about making mistakes. Instead, I could let my thoughts flow naturally and explore ideas I might not have considered otherwise. By the end, I felt more confident in my ability to express myself and discovered that sometimes the best ideas come when you stop trying to make everything perfect.

Thank you!
