Hello everyone! Welcome back to my project plan! I will be focusing on Gap years for my inquiry question this semester because I want to be able to see if it might be worth taking a gap year before starting post-secondary, or directly going to post-secondary!
The 3 main sub-questions I had for my research project is..
- What are the benefits of taking a gap year?
- What are the benefits of not taking a gap year, and directly going to post-secondary?
- which decision is more financially wise?, taking the year to explore, or exploring after graduating from post secondary?
The reason why I want research these question which seem to have an obvious answer, but could possibly be more complicated than one might think is because I want to make sure that I can see the pros and cons of each situation, and for the last sub-question, I chose this because I know there is an obvious answer, but to be more detailed with the question, I wanted to see which will make for a more better financial decision, spending all of your money before going to post-secondary, or spending limited money after graduating from post secondary. That is the reasoning for me picking out these specific sub-questions and lastly…..
The reason why I think this topic might have an effect on individuals, and a community, is because I feel that many are not yet sure of what they want to do for the rest of their life, and do not feel as if they know the right program, or the right career they want to pick, so being able to have time to do some research on which can be more beneficial I feel is really important because it can give many a perspective of what is better for them, and what they would rather avoid. I hope this helps many others, as well as myself because this research project will allow for me to see all my options before they become limited!
