Hello! Welcome to my first blog post for my second project. For my blog post i chose to inquire about our imaginations because it feels like we don’t talk about them anymore especially with the rise of ai people, can feel as though their imaginations and those of their children are disappearing along with ability to think for themselves, but I wonder if our thoughts were ever our own and if we ever thought for ourselves at all . my question is If our imaginations are formed by what we’ve seen and experienced, can anyone truly create something original, and if so who or what defines originality?
I chose this question because I was sitting in my living room a couple days ago and I realized that whenever I try to create a new story or think of a new idea for a school project it’s usually loosely based on something I’ve read, or watched. I don’t do this intentionally but I realized that if we all get inspiration from somewhere, whether that be Pinterest or YouTube or our friends are the ideas and stories we created with this inspiration our own? Throughout this inquiry project i will be attempting to find the answer to what constitutes as original, if can we actually create something original and who and or what defines originality.
