A short summary is that my partners and I, Golsa and Rima, have planned to collect garbage in our local community parks as a way to give back and spread awareness of environmental cleaning, in the hope that it will inspire others to do so as well and know that every action makes a difference. Just because you are not doing anything doesn’t mean u are not helping he environment become worse, quite the opposite, doing nothing is the same as not helping. If you have taken your time to read this, we hope you can follow along this journey.

1.) Where are you with your action? (e.g. what involvement have you had so far? Describe with examples)
So far, we have started discussing the places we will be heading to and how my team members and I will approach this. We must make sure we are all available, as this is a group project. However, that has been hard as being in grade 11 can take over most of our days. By the end of this week, we plan to have an agenda of when we can, how, and how regularly we can pick up garbage. As we know, the more regularly we do this.
2.) What are some successes that you have had? Provide specific examples. 3.) What are some challenges that you have faced?
Compared to previous action projects, their has been many challenges as we had to deal with contacting schools and making sure everyone was available. On all ends, however, with the weather working in our favor, we can hope that we will be at parks more regularly than we thought. Going over our plan and buying our supplies was quite a success as it was quick, and now, we are all prepared. There is a lot of flexibility working on your own instead of contacting schools, as we can all individuals get our supplies if they were to run out. Working at our own pace and being able to be our own boss has worked in our favor and has been quite beneficial. To be honest, at this point in the project, no major challenge has been faced, at least not big enough that we cannot overcome. Simple communication problems have been resolved.

4.) What are you doing next
Next, we are planning to ask organizations with better knowledge and that have done this previously for advice, and to ask some questions, like do we need some sort of permission? Or what is the best approach? We believe having an inside view of our project could be advantageous.
These references are helpful for our project as they have written tips on the approach of what we are doing as well as suggest making sure to separate the garbage when picking it up and not just throwing it away, although this may seem obvious, it’s a great reminder.
