We have finally decided on a date for our action project, as well as a park. However, we are open to any changes in either the time or location. We have gathered the supplies, such as garbage bags, gloves, masks, and clampers. We will be discussing with some professionals like Heather who has organized garbage picking processes in the past and can help us on this journey. After doing research and visiting the parks in person, we have decided that Lafarge lake would need the most cleanup and it was close by.

Some successes we have had so far is agreeing to a time and place. This success may seem little, but it had been our setback in our last project when not all of us were able to attend in person. Luckily, we are now able to adjust and leave room for any last minute changes. Since Lafarge lake is near by and we are surrounded by multiple other parks, we are open to working in multiple spaces. So far, we have not faced any challenges, however, we may start to face some setbacks. For example, handling garbage may include touching sharp or hazardous object. Thankfully, we will be wearing gloves and keep our eyes open to anything that can cause harm.

Next, we will be meeting together to collect garbage, write down any observations and brainstorm solutions. We will learn from any challenges we face and try to problem solve on step at a time. A quote that will keep us going is ““Environment is no one’s property to destroy; it’s everyone’s responsibility to protect.” by Mohith Agadi. This quote will inspire us to keep going and remind us of the purpose of our project.
