For my second round of research I am going to look at the unintended vs intended consequences of progress. Although there are so many good things that come with progress like new life saving technology there are so many new consequences that come with the progress. For example AI, it can be used for so many good things like being able to help diagnose patients in hospitals, but with that comes the fact that there are so many people losing their jobs do to AI. Some of the more intended things that come with progress are the more obvious ones. Like they are continuing to make even more people are becoming more aware of what plastic can do to our environment(3), new medicine and vaccines are being improved and made (2), and big things like that. Modernization for example can bring both good progress and also bad progress. Industrial workers who work long hours can be so good at their jobs and produce so much for the world, but, at the same time those long hours can be so tiring and make the workers have less time with their families. (4) In my opinion these unintended consequences can cause so much more harm then the good sometimes. In other cases, they can create more good then bad, you would just have to be careful and monitor what progress creates.
