BLOG POST #2: WHY IS IT THAT IN SPACE THERE IS COLD TEMPERATURE WHILE THE SUN EXISTS THERE.

Space is cold because it is a near perfect vacuum, lacking matter to transfer heat, so sunlight only warms object it directly hits, not the empty space itself

On earth, heat spread through conduction and convection, allowing warmth distribute efficiently. In space there are almost no molecules, so those processes cannot occur. The vacuum of space prevents heat from spreading, leaving the environment extremely cold even though sunlight travels through it.
