Hello everyone and welcome back to my inquiry project. Today I will be continuing to research my question. If our imaginations are formed by what we’ve seen and experienced, can anyone truly create something original, and if so who or what defines originality?
To continue answering this question, I need to investigate which ideas succeed, which fail, and why, and how this ultimately shapes the ideas that are produced and influences our imaginations this will help us answer the final part of my question who or what defines originality.
First I’ll recap what we know so far, so far we know that are imaginations are formed by what we’ve seen and experienced we know that creativity is the quality of being new, creative, or different from what already exists and that true originality is nearly impossible to achieve.

Some reasons why great ideas fail
One reason why these seemingly amazing ideas fail is because of money. Ah yes money the thing that makes the world go round. Many great ideas fail not because they are bad, but because they lack the financial support needed to grow and succeed. Even creative products or services can struggle if companies don’t have enough funding for marketing and production.(1) According to many innovations fail because businesses underestimate the costs and resources required to turn a great idea into something sustainable. This doesn’t just apply to the business sector even medicine is being affected by this , Scientists have discovered many possible cancer treatments, but then why don’t we have more people being cured? Well, one reason is that large corporations and investors often decide which treatments continue to receive funding. If a company believes a treatment will not be profitable enough, the project may be cancelled altogether. Crazy, right? Just so I’m not spreading misinformation, money is not the only reason. Many treatments also fail during clinical trials because they may not work effectively or safely for patients. What I’m trying to say is that with these setbacks, you often have to keep reimagining ideas and go back to the drawing board. When it comes to being creative and developing new ideas, you sometimes have to think more about what will get approved or funded rather than what you are truly passionate about this will be very important in my next blog post.

Next time in our final blog post we will talk more about who and what define originality and summarize what we’ve learned.
