The earth rotate from west to east which is commonly called eastward rotation. If you view the rotation from above the north pole , the direction of rotation is counterclockwise. However if you view the rotation from below the south pole this rotation appears
Not all planet rotate the same direction as earth. Earth eastward rotation is prograde ,meaning the earth spin in the same direction as the sun also rotate.Mercury,Mars,Jupiter,saturn and Neptune also experience prograde rotation while Venus and Uranus have retrograde rotation .
Venus rotate clockwise as viewed from above it’s north pole .From the prospective of Earth ,the sun rises in the West and set in the east on Venus .However since east basically refers to the direction of sunrise ,if you are on Venus the sun rises in the east .Uranus has axial tilt so it’s rotation is even more unconventional.
