Throughout this project, I focused on how the amount of sleep individuals get affect their performance and mental health. I used many different sources to come to the ending result that other factors such as the quality of sleep, stress, and the amount.

As this project has taken half of a semester, I have been faced with some challenges along the way. One of the challenges I had to overcome was finding reliable and new resources to use each question. As this topic has a decent amount of research, a lot of the information is repetitive, so it makes it harder to find new reputable sources to find information from. In order to face this challenge, I had to search a little deeper and use different words to find more sources. Searching simpler topics such as “other factors that affect mental health and performance” or “how sleep affects our lives”, other things such as “how is mental health intertwined with sleep?” result in better sources. This was just one of my challenges throughout this project; however there were many more that I had faced. Another challenge that I had to face was staying on task with posts and ensuring that all my work was completed on time. With 4 other classes this semester, and lots of homework, it was difficult to manage time. In order to make sure that all my posts were completed on time, I ensured that I prioritized these assignments and tried to complete them as soon as possible. Overall, finding new sources and completing my work on time were just some of the many challenges that I have overcome throughout this whole semester.

As a very busy teenager, i’m sure that many other people my age agree that they often place their sleep at the bottom of their priorities. On late nights, instead of going to bed, many choose to pull all nighters to finish a project, or stay on the phone talking to friends, or even hanging out with friends very late. All these factors, that many do; including myself, have made me realize how important my sleep is. I have learned that pulling all nighters and other factors can wait because sleep should be my number one priority. This has made me realize that I should now prioritize sleep as it is constantly determining my performance at my work, at school, and in my daily routines.

By learning that the amount and the quality of sleep affects our performances, I have now realized how I want to improve my daily routines. Instead of focusing on finishing homework when I know I have an early morning and sacrificing school, I should go to bed and focus on finishing the task in the morning. This has now impacted how I will focus on prioritizing my sleep, and ensuring that I get great quantities of quality sleep.
Overall this investigation could help others think differently about sleep and their performances, and hopefully will increase their willingness to prioritze Locally people may realize that their sleep is constantly affecting heir daily performances, such as their grades, job, or life style. Globally, understanding that sleep is a very important quality in our life, can help spread awareness to those who need to hear it. Many adolescents my age need to realize the affects and tolls that come with avoiding sleep.
