The Price of Time Blog Post #7

A. What challenges did you overcome throughout this story project? How did you go about overcoming these challenges?

One challenge I faced was balancing historical accuracy with creative storytelling. Since the story takes place on the Titanic, I needed to make sure the events matched real history while still creating an interesting fictional plot. I overcame this challenge by researching the timeline of the Titanic disaster and using that information as the foundation for my story. Another challenge was keeping the story short enough for a five-minute presentation while still including character development and a clear plot structure. I solved this by focusing only on the most important events and removing unnecessary details.

B. How did writing and researching this story change the way you think?

Writing and researching this story made me think more deeply about how people make decisions under pressure. The main character knows the future, but he still has to choose between helping himself and helping others. Learning about the Titanic disaster also reminded me that historical events involve real people, not just facts and dates in a textbook. It helped me better understand the human side of history and the importance of empathy.

C. What impact will this story have on others locally and/or globally?

This story may encourage readers to think about responsibility, courage, and the choices people make during difficult situations. Although the Titanic disaster happened over a hundred years ago, the themes are still relevant today. People around the world face situations where they must choose between personal benefit and helping others. The story can inspire readers to consider how their actions affect those around them and remind them that even small choices can make a difference.
