Blog post #7 Reflection

One challenge I faced was finding reliable information about mental health in young athletes. There was a lot of sources available, but not all of them seemed trustworthy. To overcome this, I used credible sources such as research articles and health organizations. Another challenge was understanding how different factors, such as pressure from coaches, parents, and competition, affect athletes’ mental health. I addressed this by comparing information from multiple sources.

This inquiry changed the way I think about sports and athletic success. Before, I mostly focused on the physical aspect of sports like training and performance. Through my research, I learned that mental health is just as important as physical health for athletes. I now better understand the challenges that young athletes face and the importance of supporting their emotional well being and their athletic development.

This investigation has encouraged me to pay more attention to mental health, both for myself and for others. In the future, when I participate in sports, I will recognize the importance of balancing performance goals with mental well-being.

This investigation can help raise awareness about the mental health challenges faced by young athletes. Locally, it can encourage coaches, parents, schools, and sports organizations to create supportive environments for young athletes. Around the world, the increased awareness can help reduce stigma surrounding mental health in sports and promote athletic programs which prioritize mental health.

Thank you for reading! This has been one of my most interesting projects!
