Hello, my name is Ian and I am currently in grade 10 at Dr Charles Best Secondary. I live in Coquitlam, BC and my favorite subject is science.
My passion is volleyball as well as cooking and baking. My strongest attributes are that I am very ambitious and positive. Something about me that surprises others is that I can be very smart and thoughtful. I joined Butterfly because I want to be more knowledgeable about how community works, and how I can make a positive impact. I also want to learn about different social issues and how it affects the people around me.

To me, a community means a group of people that can support and depend on eachother. It’s about helping others, working together, and making everyone feel included and making sure that everyone is valued. Whether it’s helping my friends, picking up trash, or doing research, I believe small actions can make everybody feel more connected and supported.
My place in my community is someone who tries to get involved and help out as much as I can. I like participating in school activities, join clubs, and play sports. My role is to contribute to my community and make it a better place for everyone.
If I could solve any global problem, I would reverse all global warming. I believe global warming is one of the biggest problems in society and everybody and everything could heavily benefit the reversal of all effects caused by air pollution, greenhouse gasses, and deforestation.

In my free time, I like to watch movies and tv shows. I also like to go out with my friends and listen to music.
I would like to be the worst person on the best team because that how people get better. How are you going to improve if you are constantly being held back? Being on the best team would force me to grow in whatever I want to do and make me a lot better.

The category of butterfly effect I am most interested in is inquiry. I would like to learn lots about how things work, especially sociology and psychology questions. I find these things very fascinating and cool.
