Hi! My name is Amaanet, and I am 15 years old. I live in Coquitlam, British Columbia and I attend Charles Best Secondary school as a sophomore. In past years, my favorite subject has always been English, but as of late, I have taken alot of interest in my Marketing and Promotion course. I believe that business is a career path that I might want to follow.

One of my biggest passions is soccer. I have been playing since I was 7 years old, and hope to continue until the end of high school! Through soccer, I have learned so much discipline and the importance of hard work. I am beyond grateful that the sport I love has left me with so many friendships and life skills that I know I will carry with me into my life after high school.

I think that one of my strongest traits is my persistence. To me, persistence means overcoming obstacles and putting in the work to achieve your goals. I believe that I showcase this skill both through academics and on the field.
Growth is super important to me, in multiple aspects of my life. If I had to choose, I would rather be the worst person on the best team, than the best person on the worst team. Surrounding yourself with individuals who are better than you creates an environment where you are able to improve, which I believe is more important than simply being “the best”. Personally, I have been on both sides of this question. After making a switch to a more advanced soccer team, I was one of the worst players. I was getting limited playing time, and disappointing both my coaches and teammates. However, playing with and against girls who were better than me forced me to improve my level of play. This season, I not only start, but I play the full 90 minutes of the game.

Out of the 3 categories of the Butterfly Effect, story interests me the most. I have always loved creative writing, and I am super excited to develop my skills through this project.
Thank you!
