Hi my name is Kylee, my 3 most important values are equality, justice, and integrity
My 3 least important values are tradition, power, and spiritual growth.
I agree with these results. I believe no matter your race, gender, sexuality, etc. Everyone should have the same rights, treatment, and opportunities. Plus, I think equality can also include/overlap with some of the other values, like belonging. As in a world of equality, people would likely feel safer and more included which gives the feeling of belonging.
Justice in my opinion also goes with equality. Since both values want the same thing: fairness.
Integrity is from my standpoint, important to achieving equality. For understanding your own ethical code, can help you learn about what you care about. Which can lead you to supporting charities and organizations with those same goals. For example, if empathy is important to you and you care a lot about cats, you might want to volunteer, donate to an organization helping cats or start your own project for cats in need.

I also agree with my results for least important values. I still think tradition can offer comfort and belonging. But I feel sometimes it’s good to reflect on how things have been done before and question if it’s still relevant to our changing world.
Power itself isn’t important to me. I don’t find it useful to value other people for their ability to influence others. Unless they influence people in a positive way. Which is far and few between in a world that makes standing up for what’s right, scary and uncomfortable. As standing up for what’s right usually means starting something alone. In addition, in a world of social media, misinformation is very common. Especially if you’re standing up for something that is well talked about on social media. The chances of people not supporting you because of misinformation is unfortunately high.
Finally, spiritual growth isn’t a big thing for me because I don’t follow any religions.
The values equality and justice mean a lot to me when I think about our society. I get frustrated when a specific group of people is discriminated against because of social norms. For example, when women get paid less than men because they are female.
If there are some values missing on the list I think it would be: honesty, knowledge, and peace.
I don’t think I can describe a situation where I put into action any of the values that are important to me since I’ve only figured them out recently. However, an example of a future situation where I could put the values into an action, is if I see someone being discriminated against, I could stand up for them.

In researching the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals, I think goal 16: peace, justice and strong institutions align most with my values. Since it focuses on equal access to justice and promotes non-discriminatory laws.

I think out of these goals I have two passions. Gender equality and life on land. However, I’m going to focus on life on land. Life on land’s main important factor to us is the resources. Such as, clean air, water, food, and shelter. Life on land is important to me personally, because I enjoy being in nature. I participate in girl guides and go camping annually, so I get to go to fun, beautiful places in BC. I also go on a lot of walks with my dog, which means I get to see a lot of local parks. Unfortunately, with that, I also see lots of harmful litter. Which makes me feel sad and stressed for all the other dogs and dog owners who must always be cautious when they walk.

The action I would like to apply to address this goal is hosting some sort of food drive. This action aligns specifically with target 15.A (Mobilize and significantly increase financial resources from all sources to conserve and sustainably use biodiversity and ecosystems). My goal for the food drive is to collect donations of food (that is accepted) for dogs and cats, and money (if food isn’t convenient). I am aiming to focus more on donations for dogs, since that is what I know more about, but it would still be fun to help some cats as well. My plan for the donations is to (depending on the amount of donations I receive) donate them to the Coquitlam animal shelter or split the donations and give half to them and half to the BCSPCA.
Thank you for reading!
Also, if you were wondering all photos were taken by me. (I am open to answering questions if you are curious about locations).
