Part 1: Values activity

1. My three most important and least important values

My three most important values are integrity, compassion, and community. Integrity means staying true to my beliefs, being honest, and doing the right thing even when nobody is watching. Compassion means caring about others and being willing to help people who may be struggling. Community means supporting one another, working together, and contributing to something bigger than ourselves. My three least important values are risk, pleasure, and power. This does not mean these values are necessarily bad, but they are less important to me compared to my other values.

2) Do you agree with the results? What do these values mean to you?

Yes, I agree with the results because these values are things I genuinely care about. Integrity means being honest and staying true to what I believe in. Compassion means caring about others and being willing to help when someone needs it. Community means being there for others and doing my part to make the people around me feel supported. I think these values are important because I enjoy volunteering, helping out at school, and being involved in my community. I want to be someone people can count on, and I believe that even small actions can make a difference.

I think the statements describe the values well because they explain what each value looks like in everyday life. However, I think some values, such as kindness and honesty, could have been included more directly. Although they are related to compassion and integrity, I think they are also important values on their own.

One example is my involvement in The Shoebox Project at school. We collect donations to support mothers and families who are going through difficult times. I think this shows compassion because I genuinely want to help people who need it. It also shows integrity because I take responsibility for planning events and making sure everything is organized properly. Being part of this project has shown me that even small things can help someone, and it motivates me to keep finding ways to give back to my community.

Part 2: United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals

3) Which goal aligns with my values the most?

The goal that aligns most with my values is Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities. I think it is important to have a community where people support each other and feel like they belong. This connects to my values of integrity, compassion, and community because I want to be someone who helps others and contributes to making my community a better place.

4) Which goal is my passion, and why?

The goal I am most passionate about is Goal 15: Life on Land. I care about keeping our environment clean and protecting nature. I think littering is a problem because it makes our communities look messy and can harm animals and their habitats. I want to do my part by keeping the areas around me clean and encouraging others to do the same. I believe that even small actions, like picking up litter, can make a difference if more people take the time to help.

c) What specific action would I like to take?

One action I would like to take is participating in litter cleanups around my community, such as parks, school grounds, and nearby streets. Picking up litter helps keep our community clean and prevents waste from harming animals and the environment. I could also encourage my friends to join me so we can make a bigger difference together. I think this is a simple but meaningful way to give back to my community while taking care of the earth.
