Blog post #2!!!

Hello! Welcome to my blog post #2. For my semester one inquiry, I have decided to research the question “To what extend does daily water intake influence skin hydration and acne occurrence in students?” In this blog post, I will outlining what needs to be addressed and investigated in order to come to a conclusion with my inquiry question.

Step 1: Understanding the effect of drinking water on the human body and on a daily basis.

My first step would be to research how and in what ways water affects our body, whether it is positive or negative. This first step will help me gain a better understanding of the impact of drinking water daily on the human body. Is drinking more water better than drinking less water? At what point is drinking water not healthy for you? I would be able to confidently answer those questions by the end of this first step.

Step 2: Investigating the causes of acne.

This second step will address the truth of what actually causes acne to appear in the first place. I have aways wondered what factors have the most influence in acne appearance, whether that lies in our habits or diets. Additionally, I will investigate what can cause it to keep appearing and what can help reduce its numbers. This second step and the step from before will allow me to create my own thoughts and connections between daily water intake and acne.

Step 3: Investigating the relationship between daily water intake, skin hydration, and acne occurrence in students.

This last step will help me support the connections I made between daily water intake and acne occurance in step two. I will use this step of research to state my conclusion for my inquiry question and share other past studies that have taken place to answer a similar question in order to provide evidence to my research.

Bonus step: Input from my school!

As an additional step, I want to gain a base understanding from my peers. I want to know what myths or beliefs they’ve lived their whole life being told, whether that is believing drinking water has no correlation with acne occurrence or the opposite. This way I will be able to address their statements with factual evidence from past studies and my research. Surveys and QR codes will be created to make this possible.

Implications on myself and the community.

By learning about the link between water intake and acne, both I and other students can become more aware of how hydration affects our skin health. This research could encourage us to drink more water, build healthier habits, and reduce acne as a result, which may improve confidence and overall well-being in my school community. This inquiry question matters to me as I can gain a better understanding of the certain habits that may have caused me major acne back in middle school in which I never realized its impact.

  1. Hi! I found your topic really interesting and I’m excited to hear more about your research in the future. I’m curious to know how you’ll be integrating the input from others into your project as a whole. In all, your project is very intriguing and I can’t wait to hear more!

  2. Hi there! I found your inquiry very interesting and relevant, as I have also wondered in the past whether drinking water actually improves skin or if it is just a myth. I really liked how you organized your post and included images, as it made it very easy to follow. I also thought it was very creative how you plan to include QR codes to gather student feedback, since many students have cell phones and can easily access the survey. I feel that this is also a great way to keep your question relevant for the audience, especially because the inquiry is directly related to the students. I appreciated that you were thinking outside the box by including information about the negative consequences of drinking too much water. Overall, your project is creative, and I am excited to see your next inquiry post!

  3. Hello Michelle,

I found your Inquiry post fascinating! I love how your blog was written in an informative, concise, fashion as it made reading the Inquiry intriguing. One factor that you mentioned in your first step was whether at what point drinking an excessive amount of water can be unhealthy. This point particularly caught my attention as you went beyond the surface level of your project, diving deeper into the subject of the effect daily water intake has on the human body. In addition, I like how you included a bonus step that covers input you will find from your high school. This step will definitely provide more insight to your overall project; resulting in a more precise and detailed Inquiry. One recommendation that I believe will enhance your project is to include a few more pictures within the post, just to add more of a visual aspect to the post. Otherwise, your work looks polished, in an organized manner. Looking forward to your upcoming work. I’m sure the future projects are going to be remarkable!
