One challenge I faced during this inquiry was finding reliable data on mental health trends in Canada. To overcome this, I tried to use only official government sources to make sure my information was accurate. Another challenge was understanding what strategies are most effective for promoting mental well being. By reviewing multiple approaches, like increasing mental health literacy, promoting mindfulness, and involving students in program design, and then comparing their effectiveness, I was able to fully understand which ones where.

This investigation helped me understand that mental health is just as important as physical health. I also learned that stigma can stop people from seeking help. I realized that supportive environments and accessible resources make a big difference in recovery. Before this project, I didn’t realize how much social, economic, and family factors can influence mental health.

This inquiry project has made me realize how important it is to prioritize mental well-being and encourage others to do the same. I plan to be more aware of language when talking about mental health and support peers in seeking help early. In the future, I may also advocate for programs in the community that increases mental health education, and promote mindfulness.

By understanding effective mental health promotion strategies, this can help others feel more comfortable seeking help and reduce stigma in schools and communities. Programs that involve students or employees and provide convenient access to support can improve recovery rates. On a larger scale, promoting mental well being can decrease social and economic costs that benefits communities both locally in Canada and globally.
