Hey, welcome back to my blog. Today I will be discussing my plan for researching my big question, which is how does memory works. A couple questions I am going to ask along the way is 1. Why do we forget about What is the difference between long term and short-term memory? These two are important because they are types of memory, they both processes information but differently but how? 2. Does memory and mental health affect each other? Does it? I like this question because everyone struggles with different types of mental health, therefore, is some people’s memory better than others because of mental health and why? 3. Why do we remember some things but not others? How can I remember song lyrics but not a speech, there both writings what’s the difference? Why do we forget things from our childhood? I feel that this can be relatable and frustrating, it could also go hand in hand with short term and long-term memory.

I want to focus on sources that will talk about the biology of the brain and sources that I know are credible.

https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/wellness-and-prevention/inside-the-science-of-memory

These two are links to schools, very credible schools. Harvard university and John Hopkins school of medicine. Both websites have multiple different areas of research that you look through which I like, and they are both known for medicine.

https://www.psychiatrycentre.co.uk/blog/memory-problems-what-causes-memory-loss-forgetfulness

This is a psychiatric center. Every one of their psychiatrists has a PhD or MD’s. They also deal with different types of people and ages, ranging from kids to adults and teenagers. They also deal with multiple different mental health disorders. Therefore, I feel like this source is going to be helpful for me for answering my questions.

https://www.alzheimers.org.uk/about-dementia/symptoms-and-diagnosis/symptoms/emotions-memory-loss

This is the website of the Alzheimer’s society therefore they specialize in memory. This article talks about the emotional impacts of memory loss. Alzheimer’s and memory loss are different, they are very much related.

https://qbi.uq.edu.au/brain-basics/memory/how-are-memories-formed

This is an article from the university of Queensland in Australia. The university has a whole section dedicated to the brain and about the brain.

I am hoping to learn how to strength the memory. I forget everything and I am hoping that I am not alone. It can be frustrating and embarrassing, at least I feel embarrassed when I forget something, especially if it’s important. Sometimes I even forget simple things, or things that I just learned about.
