Blog Post #7 – Reflection

Hello everyone, and welcome to my final blog post for this year! Today, I will be reflecting on my experience through my inquiry project this semester.

a. What challenges did you overcome throughout this inquiry project? How did you go about
overcoming these challenges?

Throughout this inquiry project, I struggled with finding diverse sources of information. When I researched my questions, I had a hard time finding articles that didn’t just restate the same thing over and over. In order to find more information, I had to find different sources, such as academic articles and not just informational websites.

b. How did this inquiry change the way you think?

This inquiry changed the way I think about the Canadian legal system. It’s helped me learn more about how our legal system works and I feel as though I have a better understanding of law, specifically criminal law. I think this project will help me in my future socials courses as well as give me a better understanding when I read specific books, such as true crime novels.

c. How did this investigation impact your future decisions?

This investigation has impacted my future decisions in mainly one way. I think I’ll use my deeper understanding of the legal system to elaborate on different points in my courses. Additionally, I think the skills I have learned about finding different sources of information will be useful for future projects.

d. What impact will this investigation have on others locally and/or globally?

I hope that this investigation will help people around the world have a greater understanding of how different legal systems work. Hopefully, if they ever find themselves in a situation where this information is helpful, they’ll have the tools they need to keep themselves safe.
