Isabella’s Story’s Blog Post #4

Hi there! This is my Blog Post #4, and I have added more details and sites to my story plotline to prepare for my story to come together soon! I hope you enjoy reading it!

  • Eve is a sixteen-year-old teenager, who has always loved socializing with her friends and hanging out with her family members.
  • She is ambitious, curious and dreams about travelling around the world.
  •  She lives in Manitoba, Canada with her mother in a comfy and small home.
  • Her daily routine revolves around going to school, studying and talking to her classmates.

  • One evening, her mother sits her down and tells her that they are moving away to a small island known for their rocky landscapes (1).
  • She hates this idea, as she has to leave behind her friends and family.
  • She tries every way to convince her mother not to move, but it is no use.
  • Eventually, she gives up and tries to make the best out of the situation; however, she can feel the heavy weight of sorrow within her.
  • After she and her mom take a plane and arrive at the island, she observes the scenery.
  • She notices the beautiful landscape. The towering cliffs, the sandy shores, unique rock formations, and the crystal-clear water (5).
  • She thinks to herself that maybe her new life wouldn’t be so bad after all.
  • She soon settles into her new status quo, but occasionally, she experiences flashbacks to her old life in Manitoba. She misses both the place and the people there immensely.
  • One normal night, as Eve is about to sleep, she begins to hear a strange melody. She is creeped out by this powerful and irresistible melody, but at the same time, it captivates her (3). Eventually, she is pulled into a deep sleep.
  • After this strange occurrence, she is able to hear the melody during the night every day.
  • She starts getting more and more curious about this melody every single day and is left unsure about whether or not she should go and explore where this melody is coming from.
  • She finally tells herself that she cannot try and ignore it any longer and is determined to explore where this sound she hears is coming from.
  • And so, on a night where everything is quiet, Eve waits until her mother is asleep. She throws on a sweater, grabs a flashlight and steps out of the cabin and enters the cool night air.
  • As she makes her way towards the sea, she can hear the melody getting louder, and she is drawn and lured to it almost unconsciously (4).
  • When she touches the water with her hands, she is suddenly swept away by a sudden force and is knocked unconscious.
  • When she wakes up again, she finds herself in a cave-like place with damp and dimly lit torches. As she panics, she tries to escape but realizes that she is really trapped inside.
  • She hears the same sweet song-like melody (2).
  • Suddenly, one side of the cave’s wall crumbles down. It reveals a dark and narrow passageway.
  • Eve notices that the melody seems to be leading her to the passageway which leads deeper into the cave.
  • She hesitates and considers whether to follow the melody but ultimately decides to follow it.
  • As Eve steps further and further into the passage, she can hear the melody becoming clearer and more intense. As she is walking, she begins to see a faint glimmer on the walls.
  • She wonders where and what this could lead to.
  • The passageway leads to an even bigger cavern.
  • At the middle of the cavern there is a dark figure.
  • Eve sees this dark, blurry figure with bird-like features (2). It appeared to have a companion. A long, eel-shaped fish with a spiny dorsal fin running down its back (6).
  • As she walks closer to the figure, it starts to speak to her.
  • It gives her a couple of options.
  • She can either return to the tiny village or stay and explore this unknown place. She hesitates, thinking of her mother and the relaxing scenery that she wakes up to every day.
  • In her mind, she knows that the right decision is to leave the place, but she also desires to travel and explore. This mysterious figure seems to understand the deepest desires in her life as she offers her something that she has longed for (3).
  • Just the thought of going on an adventure excites her. She wants to experience something she has never felt before.
  • As a result, after a few moments of deliberating, she chooses to explore this unknown place.
