Blog Post #1- Why do humans procrastinate even when they know the consequences?

Welcome to my second project of the year! I decided to do an inquiry project again for my second project and my question will be “Why do humans procrastinate even when they know the consequences?”

This question interests me because procrastination is something that affects many people, including myself. Even when I know that delaying a task will lead to stress or negative outcomes, I still find myself putting it off. This makes me curious about what is actually happening in the brain and why it is so difficult to act logically in these situations.

I also find this topic interesting because it connects to psychology and human behavior. It is not just about being lazy, but about understanding how emotions, motivation, and decision-making work together. By researching this question, I hope to better understand why procrastination happens and explore possible ways to manage or reduce it.

Additionally, this question is important because procrastination can impact many areas of life, such as school, work, and personal goals. Understanding it could help people become more productive and less stressed. This makes it a meaningful topic that can lead to further questions and deeper learning.
