Interstaller travel is the hypothetical travel of space craft between star system. Due to the vast distance between the solar system and the nearby star, Interstaller travel is not practicable with current propulsion technology. The large distance involved in interstellar travel require a high degree of space craft autonomy, released by Artificial Intelligence. At it’s current place, reaching the closest star system, Alpha Centauri, would take tens of thousands of years. Bridging the gap for Interstaller travel requires moving beyond chemical robots, which are limited by the Robot Equation and would take tens of thousands of years to reach even the nearest star. Relativistic electron beam propulsion and laser- pushed a light sails could bridge the Interstaller gap, potentially enabling probes to reach Alpha Centauri 20-40 years by achieving 10-20 %of the speed of light.
