   BLOG POST 5: CONCLUSION

As I conclude we notice that animals are extinct due to a combination of factors including habitat loss, climate change pollution. Human activities contribute to this extinction crisis.

  1. HABITAT LOSS- the destruction of environment is essential of their survival are the primary drivers of most species’ extinction e.g. complete removal of habitat clearing forest.
  2. CLIMATE CHANGE- habitat and food sources make species survival difficult by ecologically adapted species. This includes the rising temperature, unpredictable rains and severe droughts.
  3. ILLEGAL HUNTING- illegal hunting, fishing and trade reduces the number of species.
  4. POLLUTION- pollutants such as pesticides and plastics negative impact wildlife.

Animals go extinct when they can no longer survive or reproduce fast enough to maintain their population.

The single biggest reason species go extinct in the modern era is the destruction and fragmentation of their habitat.

The other main possible cause of extinction is overexploitation that refers to the overuse of natural resources, such as fish or forests which can lead to depletion of species and the destruction of habitat.

  1. This is a really thoughtful conclusion post. I like how you focus on the bigger picture of how human activities are driving extinction and showing the impact on wildlife overall. This link may help with future research on this topic: World Wildlife Fund: Deforestation

  2. Hi Ferishina, I really liked how you clearly explained the different causes of extinction, especially how you broke them down into categories like habitat loss, climate change, and pollution. That made your ideas easy to follow and showed a strong understanding of the bigger picture. Your point about habitat destruction being the biggest cause today really stood out because it connects a lot of the other issues together.
It was also interesting how you included examples like illegal hunting and overexploitation, since that shows how human actions directly impact wildlife in multiple ways.
One idea that could make your post even stronger is adding a specific example of an animal affected by one of these factors, which could help readers better connect to the issue and see its real-world impact.
How do you think individuals or communities can help reduce one of these causes of extinction, like habitat loss or pollution, in their everyday lives?
