Hi! My name is Zoe Popa. I’m a grade 11 student at École Dr. Charles Best Secondary School, which is in Coquitlam, BC, Canada. My favourite subject is usually art which I took last year but unfortunately I don’t have this year. Out of the course that I am taking this year, English is my favourite. I like English because I love to analysis literary media.
My family is from the Transylvanian part of Romania. I was born here but I lived in Brasov, a city in Romania from ages 1 to 3. Some thing I am passionate about are stories. Whether it be books, movies, tv shows, any another kind of fiction. I have incredibly long lists of movies I want to see, books I want to read and TV series I want to binge. One of my favourite ways to relax is to lay in bed with my cat, rewatching a favourite movie or rereading a beloved book.
For me the word community means a group of people who support each other and create a sense of belonging. Going by that definition my place in my community is to support others and create a sense of belonging with inclusion. If I had to choose, I would rather be the worst person on the best team than the best player on the worst team. By being the worst person on the best team you have room to grow, people to look up to as well as the advantages that come with being on the best team.
Currently, I am most interested in doing an inquiry project. I have done multiple inquiry projects in past years and one action project in the 9th grade, but I’d like to do an inquiry because I have a specific topic in mind which I would like to research and understand.
