Hi! My name is Alex; I am a grade 12 student at Dr. Charles Best Secondary School. I am 17 years old and I live with my mom, dad, sister, cat, and dog. My cat is 10 years old and my dog is five. For fun, I enjoy playing field hockey and horseback riding. I also enjoy baking and cooking!
I wanted to take Social Butterfly because we get to explore and research things we are interested in. My strongest trait is resilience, meaning I keep moving forward even when things get difficult.
In my free time, I enjoy playing field hockey. Currently, I play for West Vancouver Field Hockey Club, and I travel to West Van multiple days a week for practices and games. In the summer, I played for team BC at the national championships in Surrey. In the spring, I went to Czechia with U18 Team Canada, which was an amazing experience.
To relax, I enjoy going for walks in Mundy Park. I like Mundy Park because it is very big and you can walk for hours around the perimeter. There is also an off leash dog section, which is where I like to walk my dog! I also love that the park has two lakes, they are very beautiful.
I am interested in doing inquiry projects because it gives me a chance to research and learn about something I am interested in! I haven’t really gotten the chance to do an inquiry project like this one yet, so I am excited!
