Hi, my name is Samia Cheng I am 14 years old and this year I’m in grade 10 at Charles Best secondary school. My ethnicity is Chinese, but I live in Coquitlam British Columbia, and my favourite subject in school is English.
Like I mentioned earlier, I am Chinese, so there’s are a couple norms and traditions that may seem interesting to other cultures. For example, most of my family is from a part the China where their Chinese dialect always sounds like they’re arguing or angry. That’s why my family can only speak their dialect at home, because if not, we would get weird looks. I’d say my strongest attribute is my confidence, which is always really great to have because it encourages me to always try new things without the fear of what others think of me.

One of my hero’s is Jesus Christ Himself. I am a Christian so of course I’m bias, but no matter which way you look at it from, the majority of perspectives believe that Jesus was a real man who walked the earth, and He was a great person and moral teacher. To me, Jesus is awesome, and He changed the way I live, and through Him, I’ve made and improved so many meaningful relationships, and my life have improved in every way.

This semester, I will be doing the inquiry project for my butterfly effect. I chose this category because I am someone who has always loved learning new things, whether it is watching a video or documentary, reading a book, or researching online. I think doing an inquiry project is right down my alley out of the other two choices. I have an idea on what I want to do. I was thinking to do it about a social commentary and modern feminism.
That’s all about me, thanks for reading!
